Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of techmaven.us, operated by Tech Maven (“Maven”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

What this site is — and isn’t

Everything here is general information about our venture studio. It is not legal, tax, financial, or investment advice, and it is not an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security or investment. Nothing on this site — including descriptions of how we invest, our deal structure, or our process — creates any commitment or partnership. We are bound only by a written agreement signed by an authorized Maven representative.

Past results

Descriptions of our ventures, clients, and engagements are illustrative. Past outcomes do not predict future results, and company and product names belong to their respective owners.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• Use the site unlawfully, or to infringe anyone’s rights.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure.
• Scrape or harvest content in a way that burdens the site, or resell our content.
• Submit false information, impersonate anyone, or send malicious code or spam through our forms.

What you send us

Unless we have signed a separate confidentiality agreement with you, anything you send through this site or by email is not confidential. Please don’t send trade secrets, third-party confidential information, or anything you aren’t free to share. By sending us material you confirm you have the right to do so, and you give us permission to read, store, and evaluate it in considering a possible partnership. We review many ventures and may already be working on, or may later work on, something similar — doing so creates no obligation to you.

Intellectual property

The site’s text, design, graphics, and code are owned by Maven or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages for your own informational use; any other copying, modification, or commercial use needs our written permission. Our name and logo may not be used without permission.

Links to other sites

We link to third-party sites for convenience. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices.

Availability and disclaimer

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or up to date.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maven and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Maven harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows when. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Other

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site.
